What is Oak Island Treasure?

Oak Island Treasure was created in August 2001 to bring the story of the Oak Island Money Pit mystery to an international audience. The website’s creator, Jo Atherton first read about the mystery as a child and it had her hooked. Initially designed as a means of connecting with other fans of the mystery, the site has grown from strength to strength with over 20 thousand followers on Facebook.

Over the years, Oak Island Treasure has been involved in a variety of exciting projects, such as assisting Buena Vista to promote their film, ‘National Treasure’, working with the producers of Canadian MTV, editors of magazines and been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal.

Jo Atherton lives in Bedfordshire, UK where she works as a professional artist. She has visited Oak Island four times over the years and hopes to return again soon to visit the many friends she has made. The Money Pit mystery is truly infectious and once under your skin, it is with you for a lifetime.
